I found that TID's policy was cheap and covered everything I wanted to be covered for and there was no excess. I did not have to make a claim this time, but after reading about troubles in the forums, I might do some intensive research before purchasing my next travel insurance policy.

The services of 1Cover are really excellent. I was flying to India and due to some unavoidable circumstances, had to stopover at Nepal on the return journey. There I developed severe stomach ache. 1Cover paid for all medical expenses and their response time was really quick. A phone call was all it took from my end and I was sorted. Keep up the good work 1Cover!

Before my last trip to Algeria, I got myself insured through 1Cover. Sadly, I fell ill during the trip and required urgent medication. On returning, I was just asked to fill a simple claim form. My request was immediately processed and the payment was prompt. I am definitely going to recommend 1Cover to all my friends.

My planned trip to US involved flying to Chicago and taking the Amtrak California Zephyr to San Fransisco. We have an annual multitrip policy with Columbus Direct as we had insured with them for years and we had not made any claims prior to this. A couple of days before our travel commences, we received a notice that our train on Amtrak was cancelled due to flash floods. Knowing that we had an annual multitrip policy, I called Columbus to tell them we will be making a claim. They argued that we could still make the trip to US, so cancellation was not covered. On my trip to England with my partner, our airline lost our luggage. We contacted TID and they were ready to assist us in case our airline couldn't retrieve our bags. This gave us a peace of mind as we were supposed to attend a wedding. We will use them again and recommend TID to all our friends.

2 weeks prior to our trip to the US of A, our baby daughter fell very sick and we needed to cancel our trip. TID were very helpful and professional in their handling of our claim. We have now arranged another trip and I did not hesitate to take purchase travel insurance with TID again. A big thank you to TID.

Travel Insurance Direct follows the policy of double standards! I was paid peanuts in the name of trip cancellation charges even after all the documentation. I would warn all people not to go for TID, when you have so many companies offering a lot more better policy.

I must say that I am very disappointed with Allianz travel insurance. During my official trip to South Africa my baggage was stolen, but I did not receive any reimbursements. My claim was denied because they assumed that I would receive expenses from my company as I was on an official trip. Even after a lot of phone calls and emails my case has not been considered.

Very competitive prices and overall cheaper than other travel insurance providers with similar or better coverage than other providers. Have recommended to friends who were travelling overseas!!!! Peter

What I liked about southern cross was that they were easy to organise online and the prices are reasonable. I was pickpocketed in Rome. While trying to lodge the claims online, I bumped into a few problems, however, the southern cross staff took the initiative to help me with my problems, without me needing to follow up and haggle them. The claim assessment was fair and reasonable and there were no 'hidden' contract clauses.

During my to visit India. I participated in a local game that was being played and ended up breaking a bone in my foot. InsureandGo did not consider my claim because apparently as per their policies the game that I played was not listed in their “sports and activities” table. This is absurd. Any sport played should be considered. How can they ask a person to only stick to the sports and activities mentioned in their table? I strictly disagree.

Buying travel insurance online was quick and easy. Both my husband and I have existing medical conditions and we thought that we would not be covered. We are in our mid 50s. We were relieved to find Covermore and they covered all our medical conditions. We can now travel without worries.
