First used Insureand Go in 2017 for a Cruise. Had occasion to make a claim for medical expenses for onboard treatment of an illness. Claim was settled promptly with no fuss. Have re insured for a cruise in 2020. It pays to compare. My quote was more the 50% less then some, for the same level of cover.

I have used Allianz/ Online Travel Insurance several times before, but never had to make a claim. This time I did. They showed their true colours.My domestic plane to Melbourne was delayed, which means I missed my international flight. Policy claims they will pay for "Reasonable expenses" when a journey is delayed for 6-24 hours or more (the wording for this in their policy is extremely convoluted).Uber into Melb and back ($90), hotel ($300) and meals ($100).According to the policy, the costs of changing a ticket due o missed connection should be automatically reimbursed ($140). The carrier only has one flight per day, so 24 hours was my minimum delay.Policy has a $200 excess. I submit all documents. I base my claim on missed connection, travel delay and that I had an event to go to (I submitted these docs as well).Allianz reject the claim stating that "reasonable expenses for a 24 hour delay" IS actually $200 (in Melbourne?). They refuse to pay for the flight change as well. Allianz send me an email stating they have "trying" to get in touch with me. My phone works just fine.I dispute their decision. Three weeks later I receive another email again stating they have "trying" to get in touch with me. Again, the phone works just fine and no missed calls or messages. Allianz ask me to call them back on a 1800 number. I tell Allianz I am now overseas and 1800 numbers do not work so kindly reply via email. Allianz do not respond...Their insurance is misleading and the wording convoluted. The reason people take insurance is to cover their backs with unforeseen incidents. Allianz misleads customers; their product does not deliver what it promises to or what consumers have paid for. I will now take my case to Consumer Affairs.

Had yearly travel insurance for 35+ years. One claim 25 years ago for broken tooth. All of a sudden, after turning 70, couldn’t find anything that gave me the coverage I wanted.
Am 73, a still working registered nurse and in excellent health but the restrictions and pages and pages of the policies made me crazy. I insured with you last year, made several overseas trips with no problems encountered. I really don’t understand why travel insurance can’t have good customer, no claims bonuses!
Anyway, thanks for insuring me. Have a few trips booked for 2020!

Whilst overseas, I somehow got a bug that resulted in my having chronic diarrhoea for 6 months. I went to hospital in Nepal and was admitted overnight under the advice of the Assist team at Covermore. They told me when I woke up that my GOP would be sent through and I would be able to leave. I had to wait the entire next day and missed my onward travel because they couldn't deliver as promised. 4 Months Later I am trying to claim reimbursement for an entire series of medical issues that followed where I cooperated at every time with Covermore's wishes. Even when they sent me home, I paid for my own flight and returned to Australia. They now claim that the rest of my trip can't be reimbursed. This contradicts the advice I received over the phone by multiple staff members of Covermore when they told me I had to return home or I would be unable to be covered if I kept travelling. I did what they asked of me and now am deeply out of pocket as a result of their disorganisation.

It was a great experience to see how the Yankees live, I seen plenty of eye-opening things in regards to the way a lot of them live and the food they eat. I experienced food poisoning twice in my 42 days, their health system is outrageous, that was the only problem..!!!
Thank God we live in the best country in the world 🌍. Aussie !!!

We have been insuring with Tick for a number of years now after trying a lot of other companies for our many travel, We have found Tick to be the best value for money. We have ever only made one small claim and they were very prompt in setting that claim.

Twice I have had to claim and both times have no issues I will only use your company when travelling anywhere

My partner and I had a 5 week trip planned to Scandinavia, however I got sick in the first week and ended up on IV and oral antibiotics. Whilst Zoom insurance were very supportive, we found First Assist (the medical advice team) quite unhelpful and condescending with regard to the medical condition I was suffering, and they advised that I should be able to continue to travel. At this time I had two letters from Doctors advising that I should travel home to Australia from Stockholm. We were initially informed that the medical bills would be paid, but not the lost travel. This advice was provided when we had two Doctors letters advising us to return home to Australia and not travel any further. At this time we asked for clarification by email as to whether Zoom were advising that we travel on against medical advice. We did not receive any advice for two days, so we booked our own flights home in accordance with the medical advice.
The Zoom Claims Team then undertook a further assessment of our claim and advised that they would support the need for curtailment of travel, however this advice took two days to come through on email and we had already landed back in Australia when we got the email.
Whilst we were provided with a full refund on our lost travel and our medical bills, the stress of the First Assist conversations and the initial advice that lost travel would not be covered made our experience very stressful.
It was extremely lucky that we travelled home when we did as I had further complications from the antibiotics and ended up needing to attend the emergency department for a further infection that surfaced 4 days after returning home.

Due to my father becoming extremely ill I was forced to change travel arrangements. The staff at 1cover were very helpful both while I was overseas and assisting with my claim upon my return. I was reimbursed for lost accommodation, flights and prebooked tickets. I was also reimbursed for the extra accommodation which was necessary. This was a very stressful time and my dealings with the staff while overseas was very helpful and I was extremely impressed on how they followed up on all communications.

This is the most difficult travel insurance company I have ever dealt with after many years of travel. We made a claim due to a lost item. After significant requests for documents which were all provided the company continued to ask for more. The claim was approved but for an amount that was completely different to the companies PDS document. When we attempted to ask questions the claim was then declined. We tried to make a formal complaint and told they had no internal dispute resolution team which is outside requirements. After much disagreement we eventually spoke with a complaint officer. We ultimately had to make an AFCA complaint to resolve the issue faster. Do not insure with this company!

We have been using and recommending 1Cover for years but have noticed that others are just as competitive lately.Still happy at this time.

What would appear to be a startlingly clear bona fide case for a claim (flight from Boston to New York was delayed 4 hours so we missed our Qantas flight back to Australia; when we had given ourselves a clear 5 hours 50 minutes between flights to budget for any delays) was rejected based on the minutiae of their exclusion criteria (pivoting in this case on a requirement for SIX hours stopover): so exhaustive and draconian as to render the policy impervious to claims
