I took their travel policy when I went on my trip to the States, and I lost my iPad at the airport. Despite providing them with all the documents required my claim was rejected. I wouldn’t recommend TID to anyone.

Travel Insurance Direct is the best insurance for me. They provided excellent service throughout the claiming process, which is almost paperless. Whenever I had any enquiries, the customer service team resolved it in a timely manner. All you have to do is make sure your documentations are in place.

When my daughter went to Madagascar, all her luggage was stole. The TID staff were excellent, the situation was complicated due to the fact she was in Madagascar, it was hard to get all the paper work for the claims. However TID kept us informed of the stages of her claims and she eventually got our claims approved. We also used them on my second daughter's trip to Bali but we did not need to make a claim on that occasion. Had a good experience with TID, and we will definitely use them again in the future.

I was doing some research on travel insurance on google and found TID to be competitive and easy to use and understand. I will be living between Australia and Thailand for the next few years and will definitely keep using them to insure my trips. Reviews show them to be reputable, professional and have good customer service.

When dealing with TID, I only had good experiences to share. They are much cheaper than most other options, I also found them to be fast and reliable. There was one occasion where my claim was sorted out with efficiency and no questions asked. I also had another issue, when my airline had lost my luggage and they were ready on standby. I will definitely use them in the future.

I was so glad I was introduced to TID by a friend. It is easy to apply and cheap. The customer service was helpful as well. Fortunately I did not have to make a claim but it would not have a problem had I needed to. Will be using them in the future.

Unfortunately on my trip to France, I had my phone and wallet stolen from my bag. The TID officer was very very helpful. They dealt with my over the phone is a very friendly manner and responded to my emails in a timely manner. My advice is always read the PDS so you know what to do in the event of emergency. After submitting my claims form online, which was fast and simple because I had all the documents ready. They reviewed it in my favour and the payouy was quick. There were no delays and further questions, unlike the horror stories told by my friends who had very unpleasant experiences with other insurers. I highly recommend them if you want to have a piece of mind during your travels.

I made a claim for travel but it was not dealt with in accordance to the 10 days as stated on the website. I had to follow up twice before I received a letter in the mail rejectin my claim. The claims officer in charge attidute was indifferent when I called in to contest the decision. She missed receipts when reviewing my claim and also on my partner's claims. The amount of time spent chasing was just not worth the claims in the end. A very frustrating experience. I will never go with TID again.

I lost my $500 glasses while travelling overseas. I made a claim, 2 weeks later when enquiring about the progress of my claim, they informed me that my claim has been approved but my glasses had a depreciated by a whopping 60%! After paying the $100 excess, I received $103. TID noted that PDS clearly states depreciation will be calculated at "rates reasonably determined by us". I tried to lodge an appeal, but after the appeal, they said that after a "thorough review" the 60% depreciation stands.

My wife and I bought 2 annual multi trip policies and on both years, we had to make claims. We were surprised at the level of service and the efficiency at which the claims were settled. It was easy and fast. We have now renewed our policy for a 3rd year and hope we do not have to make a claim this year.

Travel Insurance Direct follows the policy of double standards! I was paid peanuts in the name of trip cancellation charges even after all the documentation. I would warn all people not to go for TID, when you have so many companies offering a lot more better policy.

One of the worst decisions that I have ever made is to buy from Travel Insurance Direct. During my last trip I lost my baggage and spent the remainder of the trip calling customer service to file a claim. After numerous phone calls and emails I was told that my baggage could not be claimed as it was lost due to my negligence. I would never advice anybody to waste their time or money on Travel Insurance Direct as I have.
