Our experience with Travel Insurance Direct was average. My husband and I opted for their international annual multi trip policy as we make frequent trips abroad. Their services are decent enough although they could consider giving some more privileges to frequent users like us.

I recently purchased travel insurance from Travel Insurance Direct on a whim after browsing through their website. The whole process was simple and quick. On a recent trip to New Zealand, my sister fell sick and all the expenses were covered by Travel Insurance Direct. Thank you Travel Insurance Direct!

My personal experience with Travel Insurance Direct has been a very uncomfortable one. The people there treat you badly and there are instances when your calls are avoided. I went for a trip and was injured during the trip, while they covered me for my medical bills, I was not able to go back to work due to those injuries but they would not pay me for the loss of income benefit. Felt cheated.

Don’t be fooled by the grand claims of Travel Insurance Direct. During my trip to Darwin, I fell and fractured my leg and could not work for 3 months. While buying the policy I was informed that I would be compensated if something like this happened, but after I filed a claim I received no compensation.

I am a frequent flier owing to my business commitments, so I was looking for suitable travel insurance with proper benefits. Visiting some travel insurance blogs led me to Travel Insurance Direct. I instantly took a liking for their no nonsense and simple policy details. It has been 3 years since I have their Annual Multi Trip Plan insurance and I am very satisfied.

Getting a policy online is quick and easy. The policies are written such that they are flexible and easy to understand. I highly recommend them. Thanks.

My experience with Travel Insurance Direct has been truly terrible. My last trip to Adelaide was cut short my mom fell and was hospitalised with a broken bone at home. When I contacted their customer service for reimbursement I was asked to fill a lot of online forms and speak to a lot of people; in the end they informed me that my claim cannot be accepted because my mom was over the age limit for cover. That is ridiculous, as my mom was healthy until that mishap.

On my trip back to Sydney from Japan, due to some technical issues, the flight landed at Melbourne airport for few hours and then left for Sydney. However, while I was in Sydney airport my laptop got stolen and the Travel Insurance Direct did not render any help. According to them, I was in Australia, thus, not eligible for the claim. However, if not for the technical fault in the plane I would have directly reached Sydney and such a thing would not have happened. I disagree with their policy and hence wouldn’t recommend it to anybody.

I have been with TID since 2007 and have had to make a claim once. When I claimed, to my surprise it was easy and direct. That helped ease a stressful and panicky situation. I was really impressed by their customer service and speedy responses. I will continue to insure with them on my travels.

I had to cancel my trip to South Africa due to some family issues. I was afraid I would lose money, but Travel Insurance Direct came to my rescue and reimbursed the cancellation cost as promised in their policy benefits. So relieved to have purchased their policy.

I am very new to using computers and the internet but I found that purchasing a policy on Travel Insurance to be much simpler than others. It is so reliable. If anybody wants to get insurance they should get it from them.

Sydney!
The last thing we expected to happen in NZ when travelling in the South Island after the earthquake roadworks everywhere. Mid way through the holiday, a large rock hit a cracked the windshield. After getting back to Australia, we lodged a claim online, it was simple and straight forward. And after a couple of weeks, we got the full amount paid to our bank account. Very happy.
