I asked on phone about the policy and cover and was told I would be covered for all journey, which turned out to be a lie. After purchasing, luggage goes missing for four days and I incurred some expenses. Kept it cheap ($80) and they refused to pay on some very obscure policy clauses based on they only cover up to point of getting on final flight. If it is late or luggage not loaded, the insurance doesn't cover (apparently). Once I tried making claim, I was just getting copy paste from offshore drones and I eventually gave up.

My friend chose to use Tick. Our flights were delayed by 3 days, and we thus lost 3 nights of (expensive) accommodation. Only upon making a claim did she discover that flight cancellation due to the 'high winds' that the destination was experiencing were not coverable - the only things that were covered, under her THREE HUNDRED DOLLAR policy were death, illness or property damage at home. She apparently should have known to take out 'natural disaster' insurance to cover flight delays!!!!!! an absolute joke. DO NOT USE THEM, and i hope they go out of business pronto.

Stranded in airport after cancelled flight, forced to stay an extra 3 days in destination at our expense. Phone call with Tick confirmed meals and accomodation are covered due to trip delay.<br/><br/>Claim took over 6 weeks to just be rejected as the specific reason for delay is apparently not covered. Waste of money when the PDS lists 4 specific and extremely unlikely reasons for assumedly one of the more common travel insurance claims.

After 5 weeks and much distress we are out close to $20 thousand AUD...I bought it through Insureandgo.com. don't buy online..... rdunston@hotmail.com

Terrible experience making a claim with this Company. It took two and a half months and many emails chasing up the progress of claim.

We used this company recently and had to use their services ( never had to in the past) the process took so long, there was never any understanding to any of what we had informed them and wanted a receipt for every item missing. This is not usually possible as some items were gifts, one item we had purchased from duty free on the flight over and the receipt was in the bag. Absolute waste of time and money, be warned they're not in it to help at all but for themselves. NEVER again.

DO NOT Buy!! THEY WILL NOT HONOUR YOUR CLAIM!!! Do not buy even if they sell for $1. Looks like everyone reviewing here did not get into some trouble while travelling and made a claim? I am currently overseas (in Europe) and sick.<br/><br/>Lucky enough got necessary treatment and Ambulance on time and I am ready to fly back. Today is 25th and my ticket on the 28th, fit-to-fly form sent days ago. No one says anything. If I fly? Maybe, they will say you didn't wait for our word and now your insurance is null and void ;-) I hear the intro music loud and well. They are en route to pay me nothing :-(<br/><br/>I don't think I have ever written a bad review in my life. Bad things happen but there is always that element, benefit of the doubt. Not this time!

It's apparent their entire claims assessment procedure is designed to intentionally prevent direct access to claims staff. SEO is clearly being manipulated, the policy wording has extremely ambiguous terms, even defining 'Mobile' as a valuable, and 'Mobile Phone' as an electronic item. Sums insured and sublimits also vague and I suspect intentionally misleading as the wording suggests each item listed as electronic was subject to it's own sub-limit. Depreciation also a joke, higher than ATO depreciation rates, actual replacement cost not even considered for items, benefit table when taking out cover suggests higher insured amounts. It seems like their whole operation was designed to postpone, delay, obfuscate and reduce any legitimate claim settlement by any means necessary. Tick does not act in good faith and has been aware of numerous complaints relating to the above, all of which appear to have been scrubbed. If you buy insurance from Tick, you are only ensuring you may not have cover at all when it counts. You'd be better off running head first into a wall than to count on any level of compassion, service, or delivery of product from a bunch of foreign insurer tin reg. market.

I had a massive stroke while I was in Canada and I was in hospital recovering for 2 1/2 months the hospital bill was about 193,000$ Canadian dollars which they did not pay. First of all they said I didn’t have a policy with them and then they said they didn’t charge me enough and then they just didn’t pay. Worst insurance company ever. Avoid at all cost.

Total waste of money. We had to cancel 2 trips due to a serious health condition, insurance was not useful at all.

Never ever again will I use tick insurance!! I should have known when it was impossible to contact them at the start that they would be terrible. We had used them for other trips and never had to claim luckily because this time there was no help and they declined our claim!! Go with anyone else but do not use tick insurance! I and everyone we know will never again.
