it may seem like a cheap insurance- but it is so much paper work, they take ages and its a $200 excess!!! Absolutely not worth it!

To make a claim, you need "ALL ORIGINAL receipts as a proof of ownership/value for the items that you intend to claim - Unfortunately, as per the PDS we cannot accept photographs". I don't think many people would have ALL ORIGINAL receipts of their luggage

I had to postpone my travel back to Australia due to getting sick in the US. Once I got in touch with Tick and telling them about my changed travel plans, they were kind enough to extend my cover by a week and told me to get a medical certificate that proves my condition. After getting back to Australia, I lodged a claim to recover some of the extra hotel/flights costs that I had to pay for myself, whilst being sick overseas. To my surprise, I almost got a full refund minus the excess obviously ($200). The claiming process took a bit long as it's all paper based and sort of manual via emails, but overall, I am very happy with Tick and I will arrange a cover with them next time again.

We had a good experience with Tick travel Insurance, made a small claim on our last trip with no problems and have used Tick travel insurance again for our next trip coming up.

I got a quote online. Received an email with price and link. Top international insurance with extras. Link was valid for 2 weeks (from their email). Next day clicked on the link to pay- price is over $100 higher! Emailed them, they said- oh, well... Called- same answer. Escalated, spoke to a 'manager'- no explanation why is it, no desire to rectify... Very dissapointing!!! Of course went with some other insurance....

Airline stranded us due to cancelled flights, spoke to Tick insurance who confirmed I can book alternative flights and they will cover these. Submitted claim once got home using alternative flights and all they covered was 20% of meals and accomm. Absolute disgrace, no chance am I ever using TICK again. Will be reporting them to AFCA

had a legitimate emergency overseas where i could have died and no choice to have surgery which cost up to 15,000 and wont cover a single cent of it and still wants a 200 dollar fee for themselves, joke of a company

I took out a policy with Tick, went to hospital in Thailand in July & made a claim. They wanted a ridiculous amount of paperwork (flights, accommodation, expenses etc.). I provided them with everything & in late August they approved my claim. It’s now mid September & they never sent me a refund. They are now not replying to my emails anymore. These guys are a complete scam. Avoid at all costs!

This company screams dodgy.
I purchased travel insurance through them and then received an email asking to submit a review on my experience. (you literally haven't done anything, but explains how they have some good reviews on here)
One of my flights got cancelled etc, so I logged in to submit a claim. Portal just goes to an error message page. this kept happening for the new few days. I finally emailed them on two occasions and have not heard a peep back. AVOID this company.

We had a completely legitimate claim for delayed travel, delayed luggage and trip alteration.

Provided all the proof requested then recieved an email back saying we need more proof, so we sent more proof and then sent further proof until I gave up after the third one. They are just thieves who are underwritten by Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company they recently changed from Mapfre.

I don't know if this is because the Spanish weren't doing the job properly or what but this company Tick Travel is to be avoided, when I called them their call centre went to people who clearly speak English as a second language and they couldn't even understand what I was asking.

AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Sydney!
Tick Travel Insurance took over 5 weeks to reject a simple delay of travel claim. Reasonable expectation that if your flight is delayed/cancelled it would be covered but fine print says only return trips covered and cutting a trip short does not cover this either.
