I am a single person who receives the Disability Support Pension, and was going on a once in a lifetime holiday, I chose InsureandGo as they were the cheapest available and covered my many pre-existing illness for a small cost. <br/><br/>Timeline: <br/><br/>I purchased GOLD travel insurance on 16th JAN 2020<br/>I purchased non-refundable accomodation in NOV 2019<br/>Travel ban issued by the PM on 18th March 2020 due to COVID-19<br/>Submitted lawful claim with InsureandGo on 18th March 2020 (all documents)<br/>Submitted complaint with InsureandGo/Mitsui/Mapfree on 27th March 2020<br/>Submitted complaint with AFCA 01st April 2020<br/>Submitted complaint with ACCC 07th April 2020<br/>Rejection letter received from InsureandGo 15th May 2020<br/>Complaint FAST TRACKED by AFCA 26th May 2020<br/><br/>As of 28th of May 2020 - I am still awaiting an outcome (almost 3 months!)<br/><br/>They may as well advertise as - we are InsureandGo, we will take your Insurance Premium and then never deal with you ever again! <br/><br/>Customer service is non-existent, complaints is non-existent.<br/><br/>Thanks to AFCA who I had to wait 10 weeks for who then could action my case,<br/>is the first time I have had contact from anyone human.<br/><br/>Why do consumers have to take avenues like AFCA to receive legitimate lawful accomodation non-refundable cancellation cover? Its DISGRACEFUL <br/><br/>I really do hope that the ACCC come down on them hard or even more so ALL Australian travellers completely abandon this company!!<br/><br/>DO NOT USE InsureandGO / Mitsui / Mapfree - they are a massive worldwide company who are only interested in peoples premiums, nothing else!!<br/>I would hate to be stranded overseas or ill overseas and have to rely on them!!<br/><br/>If I could rate them minus 5 stars I would!!

Company refusing to offer full Travel Insurance refunds/deferment/credit notes during the COVID 19 Crisis, only a partial credit, often for less than half of what the initial policy cost. My Expected financial loss will be $2880.53. Other Travel Insurance Companies are doing the right thing, why can’t Insureandgo. Their company seems to be all about profit and very little about customer service or loyalty to long term customers. Do the right thing Insureandgo. The terrible publicity you are receiving is not doing your ratings any good!!

Submitted a claim for a damaged suitcase on the 1st of March 2020 the day after I returned from Japan. Didn't hear back from them for a couple weeks and then asked a few questions about the information I needed to supply. A week later without answering my questions the claim was denied and was told if I wanted to dispute the decision that I would have to contact the dispute team and that the claims team couldn't help me. After many emails and phone calls (from only me not them) and being told that someone would get back to me time and time again, I'm sitting here 3months later at midnight posting reviews of how this company runs. Will NEVER use them again.

I contacted insureandGO last week. I took out an annual policy just prior to Covad 19 and clearly can't travel. The generic response received twice refers to non annual policy. I contacted them again saying I don't have a single policy, I received the same response. Needless to say, I won't be renewing my policy next year. There are insurers out there giving 6 monthly rebates due to Corona 19. Not these shonkies.

A negative rating if I could.<br/><br/>In March 2020 I took out travel insurance with INSUREANDGO for a domestic trip to Tasmania in June. <br/>Due to the Covid-19 travel restrictions as they relate to closed state borders I am unable to travel.<br/>As such the policy is of no use to me due to circumstances beyond my control. <br/>Until recently, many Aussies who had to cancel holiday plans due to coronavirus have been unable to claim refunds for travel insurance. However, a recent announcement by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) suggests that might be about to change.<br/>On 2 April, the ACCC confirmed it would be letting brokers and insurers work together, to implement a range of COVID-19 relief measures for small businesses and everyday Aussies.<br/>One of the benefits included in the relief package is the ability for consumers to claim refunds on unused insurance policies, which includes travel insurance, as long as the trip was cancelled for reasons related to COVID-19.<br/>"All policyholders, including consumers, eligible small businesses and larger businesses, who cancel travel plans will be able to get a credit or refund for any unused travel insurance premiums, again without administration or cancellation fees." – ACCC<br/>So far, the authorisation applies to Suncorp, Allianz and QBE. But the ACCC has said any other insurance company or broker is welcome to participate, as long as it informs the ACCC.<br/>I contacted INSUREANDGO asking for a refund but was refused as I was outside the normal 14-day cooling off period. I was told to lodge a complaint, which I did. I await their response.<br/><br/>To me it’s unethical for INSUREANDGO to keep my hard earned money for an insurance product I didn't get to use.

Do not trust or use this company. For over 3 months I have been dealing with them regarding COVID-19 claim. They have insisted they have all the documentation and information required to process my claim and I have emails saying this. I called again today and got their Manila call centre who said oh no your claim hasn’t been processed yet!!!! I ask to speak to someone in Australia and they repeatedly give me the same contact I call them on!!! I have now found out they have Australian call centre for SALES and have dumped all our claims on the MANILA PHILLIPINES call centre!!! No one is getting their money back and people are reporting them to ombudsman.

They told us we would get nothing if we cancelled and so we went, we rushed back when borders closed and have had our claim for the remaining items rejected as a loophole 'cutting your trip short' clause. The policy was not cheap and we will never use them again.

I had taken out a Gold International policy, in June 2019, for travel to Canada and Alaska in May 2020. As we all know, COVID -19 put an end to all travel. I approached I &G to try to move the cover to the same rescheduled tour in May, 2021. They have point blank refused. I have reported this to AFCA, as have 100's more. I hope this company meets its demise, due to the abhorrent treatment of its customers.

What a joke of a company. I paid for top cover travel insurance policy back in October 19 before covid and only wanted to change my travel dates to when it’s safe to travel. The whole process of trying to get help or a helpful answer has been absolutely ridiculous. I was asked to originally lodge a claim And then after doing so was told I could get a partial credit back. I thought partial credit would be at least 70% back. I paid $150 for my policy and they are offering $29 credit to use at a later date. WHAT A JOKE, do they really think $29 is acceptable and do they think I’m going to use that $29 and give them another $120 to take up travel insurance at a later date??? That’s $150 less a year this company will not be getting from me and by the looks of things on this feedback page lots of other people won’t be using them either.

This company will not pay for cancellation costs even though insurance was taken out in early January. They feel that credits from providers are sufficient even though more than likely they will not been used. The company is not taking any losses but refuse to refund or credit the cost of the policy.
Got questions?

Sydney!
Disappointing to say the least. I took out a travel insurance policy on 7/2/20 and was unable to travel due to Covid 19. Not only did InsureandGo refuse to payout on anything issued after 31/1/20 they would not refund or defer the policy to another date making it completely redundant. I had paid for a product as a safeguard which became completely worthless yet they decided to keep the premium. After lodging a complaint this was completely ignored, after which a complaint was lodged with AFCA, after some time a deferral was offered and a subsequent refund however I would not recommend using this company. If you're willing to take receipt for a product you should honour that.
