Be very cautious. Not good. Ended up costing me money, will never use or recommend again. Very disappointed.

Used TID on a number of occasions but never had to make a claim until recently. Thought the process would be easy but they just flick you off to their insurer, Cererbus, and thats when the problems start. It has been 4 mths since i submitted my claim but still no word from them. Every time i try to follow them up i get an automated message saying that "Unfortunately we are experiencing higher than normal volumes of claims", this has been the case with every email for the last 4 mths. I provided all the information that was requested on the form but they are still contacting my wifes medical providers trying to dig deeper to find something that will prevent them paying out. The medical providers are just furious with TID / Cererbus and having to provide the same information over again. Despite persistent follow ups it has been a month since i have heard from them and its been the worst experience ever. I have travelled several times since submitting my claim and have found cheaper insurers than TID and appear to provide a better level of cover. All TID want to do is sell you a policy and if anything goes wrong then you are on your own, they do not want to know you.

Having used TID's affordable insurance numerous times I was under the false impression that all would be well when I needed to claim.

I had 2 claims, 2 different policies and 2 different trips.

Both were a nightmare.

The first claim was when i travelled overseas, my mother was very ill at the time and for anyone that has seen the demise of a cancer patient you know it's challenging to put your life on hold not knowing when someone will pass.

So I flew, once I landed in Cebu, Philipines I found out that it was unlikely mum would make it even a few days.

So I advised TID the lady said of course it would be covered, booked a new flight for my hubby and changed my flight and just made it to Manila before I found out she had passed away in Sydney.

After a long drawn out process where i not only had to provide a death certificate but also was requested to provide DR's reports etc I was denied.

I went to Lloyds and lodged a dispute. I was denied again as apparently she was considered to be part of the traveling party even though she wasn't traveling!

Finally after going to the ombudsman and lodging a claim did I see any action.

I was eventually, after a lot of heartache and tears and frustrations partially reimbursed.

A year later I flew to Canada, broke my wrist and experienced the joy of claiming again.

Again this one had to go to the ombudsman and finally I was reimbursed.

So if you've been denied keep pushing as long as you are in the right...it's not fair how they treat you.

Great service, painless for someone not so tech savvy, great price compared to others. As I didn’t need to make a claim I have no comment in this, but my daughter and I were completely satisfied at the way things worked out in Bali, when we had to stay over owing to the ash from volcanoes. Will highly recommend.

My family’s house in Australia got broken into while we were in Bali, their car was stolen, house trashed and we had 3 days left. 2 family members wanted to get home to sort it out, find out what was stolen, find their car etc. and TID told them they cannot help get a flight back. They had to stay in Bali for a few more days this was terrible. TID covers “any unforeseen circumstances” which this should clearly be covered!

Didn't have to make a claim but felt confident in the service should I need it. Appreciate their follow ups.

Insurance is the necessary evil. Better to have it than take the risk. Trip went well with no need to make a claim. The online quote and payment portal was super easy.

Hope I can continue to be positive-reaching a very dangerous age by end of this year so hope prices are not too outrageous-especially as I have not made a claim.

It was great value. Better coverage. My sons asthma did not cost an arm and a leg to cover, like other companies wanted to charge.

So easy to purchase and claim if required - great cover for our ski holiday and peace of mind.

Giving a what to take list was very helpful. Made sure all the necessary items were packed without the worry of guessing what was needed for the trip away from home.

Sydney!
I have now been trying to sort my claim for 6 months. This is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. They have awful customer support. My claim has been passed around there office as no one whats to deal with it. I was asked to be passed on to their complaints department, and I have had nothing from them in 20 working days.
