Claims process was initially OK but kept on asking for more information that was of dubious relevance although for one bit of information that reduced the claim they required no supporting information. You can upload information initially but none of the subsequent additional information - this has to be emailed and they "can't open the attachment" was a tedious regularity. Eventually the claim was accepted more than 2 months after initial claim, which was more than a month after the loss because getting all the documentation they require took more than a month. Once the claim was finally approved, they took 3 weeks to pay it ("up to 10 business days" - yeah right).

I'd rather eat razor blades than insure with tick. They destroyed our reason for going to Greece, they caused us loss with the stressing conditions they.placed on us, then here it comes and all recorded as advised all my calls are, they blackmail me and my family and tick along with mapfre no they have a serious issue now as they flew me with documents that they had docked. So trust me travellers pay the extra and go elsewhere cause they are useless troglydites quick to take your money but when your in need treat you like a dog's turd. Once I take them further Il then let the media bring it out on them , there lawyers emailed me today shows me just how guilty they are. Il be taking tick to VCAT where there so called professional supervisor Christine P aka the doctor she believes she is tell the tribunal of her and mapfre decieving threatening and blackmailing conduct to get there way. Its us honest people that get kicked in the guts and as for Australian haha try phillipnes call centre.

When trying to purchase travel insurance online, and completing the form, I pressed the button "buy" but nothing happened. I then spent ages on the phone to Tick office (in queue) to purchase the insurance. The lady on phone was lovely, but the whole process took over an hour.

I say "so far" cos I haven't had a claim AND I hope I don't have to!!!
This is now the third time I've used Tick and I have to say it's mainly because of their rates. When I first"discovered" Tick, I rang them to discuss their very good rates. Their answer left me assured there wouldn't be a problem with a claim, as long as I had all the paper work / receipts.
It was logical!!
Thank you Tick. I am over 70 yrs old and my health is OK and other sites want to rip me off because of my age!!!

We were traveling from Brisbane to Sydney with Qantas to travel on a cruise. Our flight was cancelled next flight delayed. We missed our cruise. Everyone asked if we had travel insurance. We did take it out with this company. Except they are using ever excuse to get out of paying us. What use is travel insurance if things, beyond your control, go wrong? Now taking it to the Financial Ombudsman. Do yourself a favor and save time and go with a reputable company!!!

Had an accident in rural Vietnam. Tick wouldn't accept my injuries as hospital report was in Vietnamese. Luckily a intl. doctor was staying at our hotel, and he wrote up a medical report for me as a gesture of goodwill, complete with his provider number. Again, tick didn't accept this because they found his handwriting too difficult to read. Transported to Hanoi, got Tick approved and organised doctor to come to hotel room ($400, $200 of which I lose to excess in my claim). Finally that was enough to get me on a flight home. Upwards of 60 emails between the insurer and my travel party in those 3 days, multiple phone calls. Will be lucky to get anything back.
