Tick Travel Insurance Travel Insurance Review

I had my phone and bag stolen while travelling in Vietnam earlier in the year. My claim took weeks still not resolved and the evidence that I have been asked to provide is ridiculous considering my location and the timing of the event. Insurance is suppose to be peace of mind but it has been nothing but stressful and I still never received any claims back. Will not be using again.

Unhelpful, unsympathetic, inhumane staffI would question why is it relevant that a persons relative who becomes seriously ill does not reside in Australia?

Had to buy new flights, accommodation, transport don't count on them to give you anything back. The same issue happened with 1Cover last year, and they reimbursed everything. I wanted to try Tick insurance but really should've stuck with 1Cover. Now I am out of pocket thousands of dollars.

It was easy to choose. When i was having trouble with my printer, Tick mailed my policy to me which i thank you very much.

A few problems with trying sort out my claim which was disappointing due to my situation, but was finally sorted out.

Best value by far after checking out all relevant offers. We are a seniors couple in mid 70's and travel quite often

Knowledgeable efficient customer service, comprehensive selection of covers ( i am a senior travelling with a grandchild) it couldn’t have been easier, not so with some of the bigger insurers. Very competitive. Happy customer.

Photographic proof of damage to luggage was not enough. A report was needed from airport even though this was the last destination before driving home. It does not say in product disclosure that a report is needed - it just says that evidence is necessary. It was a brand new suitcase - I had the receipt to show date of purchase which was just before starting the trip - and I had photos of the damage. The suitcase is not reusable due to a large crack in the shell. The requirements are not clearly spelled out. Once I found out a report was needed, it was then too late.

Blew two tyres on a hire car, with hire company's verbal agreement paid for their replacement ourselves.Insurer kept asking for irrelevant documents eventually refused to pay as not paid through hire car company

getting the policy was easy I based my decision on this company by the review by choice magazine. I work for an insurance company that no longer sells travel insurance. If we need to claim will be the test.
