Kango Cover FAQ's
How many people can I include in my policy?
Planning a group trip? Kango lets you add on as many as 10 people onto your group travel policy.
Am I covered if I go on a cruise?
Kango does provide cover for cruises, but make sure you check ‘pacific’ on your destination selection. Once your ship has set sail you are no longer considered to be in Australian waters.
Am I covered for skiing and my equipment?
Yes, you will be covered for skiing if you purchase Kango’s ‘winter sports’ package. This will cover you for ski equipment, piste closure and avalanche cover and even riskier snow sports like cat skiing and heli-skiing.
Are kids covered for free?
Yep! You can take your kids along on your next adventure and insure them under you policy provided they are under 21 and not in full time employment.
Can I pay to reduce or cancel my excess?
Unfortunately you can not remove excess on Kango travel insurance.
What additional extras are there?
Unlike many ski insurers, Kango covers riskier snow sports such as heli-skiing, lugeing, cat skiing and off-piste skiing.
Am I covered if my tour company collapses?
Yes, Kango will cover you for insolvency.
I’m not an Australian resident- can I buy cover?
Yes, so long as you have a Medicare Card.
What size moped or motorbike am I covered to ride overseas?
You can ride a maximum engine size of 125cc as long as you hold a valid license for the country you’ll be going to.
How long is their single trip cover for?
Can I extend my policy from overseas?
If you decide to extend your trip you can easily do so by giving Kango a call on 1300 881 994. Keep in mind that you can only extend your trip by 12 months.
Do they cover for my rental vehicle excess?
You will be covered for rental vehicle excess provided you take out Eastern Grey Cover, Big Red Cover or Annual Multi-trip.
Who underwrites them?
certain underwriters at Lloyd's.
