I took their travel policy when I went on my trip to the States, and I lost my iPad at the airport. Despite providing them with all the documents required my claim was rejected. I wouldn’t recommend TID to anyone.

I recently purchased travel insurance from Travel Insurance Direct on a whim after browsing through their website. The whole process was simple and quick. On a recent trip to New Zealand, my sister fell sick and all the expenses were covered by Travel Insurance Direct. Thank you Travel Insurance Direct!

Travel Insurance Direct do not honour their promise! I was paid peanuts in the name of trip cancellation charges even after all the documentation. I would warn all people not to go for TID, when you have so many companies offering a lot more better policy.

I was travelling in South America for nature and wildlife photography. I witnessed an accident and left my bags unattended to help the affected victims. However, my bag that contained my expensive camera and equipment was stolen while I was being a good samaritan. It was a kick in the teeth, TID would not pay me on the grounds of negligence as I left my belongings unattended. I am very disappointed with their service and will not recommend their service to anybody in future.

I have bought TID for a second time. It was recommended by my daugher. The site is easy to navigate and the price and coverage is good. It was quick and easy to get insured over the internet. I would recommend them to anyone looking for cheap insurance.

Bought my first policy with TID and I broke 2 ribs while in Florida. When I got back to Australia 2 weeks later, I went to the doctors for xrays to confirm. TID paid up within days of lodging the claim. Good and honest insurers. Will use them again for my next trip.

My last trip with my husband to New Caledonia was extended by two days due to bad weather. The additional expenses of our stay were thankfully covered by the travel insurance that I bought from Travel Insurance Direct.

My trip to Fiji was a memorable one, but my husband fell sick with flu and couldn't fly so we had to extend. The people at Travel Insurance Direct were helpful but the entire procedure of filing the claim and receiving the compensation took a while.

Travel Insurance Direct lives up to their reputation. I paid them to insure me and my family for our trip this year, which was cancelled two days before we were to depart because my daughter was ill. True to their word we were paid up in full for our lost deposits and airfares.

I am a complete adventure sports junkie, and skiing is my all-time favourite sport. I frequently visit Japan to ski, so I was looking for a travel insurance company which would cover my skiing equipment and provide ski cover for bad weather /avalanche. That is when I came across Travel Insurance Direct Multi Annual Trip Plan. My skis were damaged in a small accident. Luckily nobody got any serious injury. To my surprise the claims process was fast and easy and they reimbursed me for my equipment. Thanks TID!!

Had a horrible experience with this company. I had a claim for a stolen camera (I supplied a police report from Vietnam) and the person running the claim treated me with such suspicion that I was trying to rort the system. Wasn't until it was escalated to her manager that things went smoothly. never again!

This is a compan y that appears helpful when you are buying the policy but will go to great lengths to deny claims however small. I think they are essentially thieves - we have discovered we now have a very expensive worthless policy. Strongly advise against using them
