After dealing with other travel insurance companies l was very pleased with the service from 1Cover. I have not had to make a claim but l did have to sort out travel insurance when my sister was critically ill in Vietnam. I thought my sister was with 1Cover… she wasn’t ….. but the way l was treated whilst trying to sort it out was exceptional. Unlike the insurance company she was insured with. The one she was insured with finally did the right things …. but everything l had to do and the way we were treated meant we would never go with that well known insurance again. They made us jump through hoops trying to get out of paying. I’m sure they finally medically evacuated my sister when they did their maths and decided it was going to cost them more if she died. I am happy to share the insurance company’s name

I didn’t put in a claim but was happy with the insurance quote acknowledging my medical conditions.I have used covermore for years but they didn’t acknowledge that my medical conditions were stable and tried to charge $$$

Peace of mind having cover but not using especially for the Family members.

I used to be a travel agent for 13 years pre Covid. We always sold a different insurance company but after researching 1cover and having positive feedback from a few friends who have used them we took out their cover for the first time.
My son become ill and we initially thought it was Bali belly but the doctors came out to our hotel room the morning of day 2 and couldn't find a vein to put an IV drip in we decided to take him to the hospital.
We were advised the cost could be approximately $12000 which we could have paid up front and claimed later but after a quick phone call with Melissa/Michelle ( I apologise I was very stressed and am unsure if it was Melissa or Michelle!) she advised they would send immediately confirmation to the hospital they would be covering the cost. Surgery was done a few hours later and we were constantly in contact with 1cover by them calling us to make sure he was ok and everything was taken care of.
He recovered wonderfully and 1cover continued to contact us by phone to make sure he was going well and even emailed upon our arrival back in Australia to make sure we arrived home well.
I cannot recommend them enough. The staff we talked to were caring, prompt and efficient and although I have travelled extensively over the past 27 years this was the biggest claim I have ever made ( others being lost luggage etc)
As we travel overseas twice a year I will from now on only purchase their insurance. It was also half the price of the other companies I used to use!

Price for cover is excellent, including rental car excess and rock climbing cover.

Upgrading plan is simple

Customer service and claims team are friendly, and respond quickly, however there seems to be very little information handover between representatives and platforms, and I had to re-explain the same thing multiple times.

The requirement for “proof of purchase”, rather than just proof of ownership for lost/stolen items I feel is a little extreme/unfair. Many items are impossible to obtain that information, especially in the form of gifts, and things that a receipt isn’t usually kept. This resulted in a claim for items going from almost $700 to $60 after excess was taken.

For the price, you definitely can’t complain.

My friends and I always use one cover as it is great value for money and cheaper than other big name companies - thank you for making it affordable

When I needed help most, 1Cover really came through for me, covering all hospital and ambulance costs. The staff were very caring, kind and most helpful. Recommend this insurance wholeheartedly. Thank you so much.

2 wk prior to our cruise, hubby became ill. I filled in online for claim uploading the paperwork needed. Many days received another email for more info, which I sent in my post mail. Received email to say received & allow them 10 days. Within a month from start to finish our claim was successful. I stress I felt putting in his claim was unnecessary. At all times I was kept in touch by email very quickly. Very happy. Thankyou.

Insurance companies really show their colours when it's time to claim, and I couldn't fault 1Cover when I had to cancel my overseas family trip when my daughter was hospitalised 3 weeks from departure date. Recovered all lost funds for flights, accommodation and concert tickets.

Cancellation of intended trips is a stressful process and full of unknowns. This company was responsive and kept be informed about the process. I can't thank you enough and would not hesitate to use you again and recommend your services to anyone looking for cover,

READ the FINE PRINT. There are so many exemptions that making a claim is almost impossible.
Lost or Stolen passports must be on your person to claim! How does that work?
Luggage must be in your possession! How does that work?
We were checking into our accomodation and left one bag in the locked car because we couldn't carry everything in one trip. It was obscured from view and locked but RAC refused our claim which included $5000+ of extra expenses related to the bag containing our passports. I was stranded in the UK for 3 weeks until a new passport was issued while my husband had to return to Australia on his own.
Very disappointed in the whole experience
