I planned an amazing trip. A trip of a lifetime. I did a lot of research before purchasing travel insurance and decided to go with world nomads in the end thinking they were a good and caring company. Boy was I wrong. After I developed a condition that landed me in the hospital thinking I was safe and covered during this awful time. They have “ reviewed my claim “ and are denying my claim. This is extremely unfortunate. Being a travel agent myself and knowing how hard it can be to travel and fall ill I always stress to my clients how important it is to purchase travel insurance for the security and safety of your travels. I am on a trip that will end up being a year long with a few other people. We will now all not renew our policy with world nomads and start up with another company to ensure we can all be covered for the next 12 months while travelling. It’s so unfortunate that I thought and felt comfortable while travelling thinking if something ever happened I would be protected but I was wrong. Now I am out of pocket for being in the hospital when I carefully budgeted for this trip and spent 400 dollars on insurance for nothing with world nomads. I will be telling all my clients friends and family not to book with them since they are not there for you in a time of need. Sincerely, an extremely sad and disappointed customer.

Fortunately we did not have to make a claim, but we did have some concerns when the Lombok earthquake hit in Nusa Dua where we were staying, I was glad we did not have any damage except our restaurant dinner and drinks were shaken off the table before we took refuge in the street.

After purchasing travel insurance I realised that their Rental Car Excess insurance was only valid for 15 consecutive days. Unfortunately my rental agreement was for 16 days so had to ring and cancel my policy. Had no trouble getting through, staff were very pleasant and PayPal informed me they had a refund from Insure and Go within 3 hours. Couldn't get much better service than that. Disappointed that I couldn't use this company.

I injured myself overseas and was advised by the hospital to have my leg elevated on my return flight to as to reduce any swelling and protect my wound. Upon contacting ICover, I was given an upgrade on my flight and there was no swelling. ICover were very professional, prompt and dealt with my case in a time manor. Carolyn

I've emailed the claims dept as my tooth was crack and part of my dentures broken when i eat an almond nut. Due to my hectic itinerary, i did not have it pulled out overseas as it's still manageable although very inconvenient in chewing. When i arrive in Sydney, get told that it's not covered.

Originally I liked Worldcare because you could insure for one medical pre-condition and not the whole she-bang which most insurance companies want to charge you for, even if you have only one pre-condition. However, after the last trip I submitted a claim as a flight had been cancelled which had messed up our continuing travel arrangements leaving us out of pocket by an amount of money that wouldn't break the bank, but I thought I would try and claim. Even though I gave copies of all the boarding passes and a photo of the Flight Board showing the cancellation, they wanted a letter from the airlines stating why the flight was cancelled. I tried contacting said airline several times, but they ignored my requests. Why should they bother, as they had fulfilled their obligations by getting us to our destination - eventually. If Worldcare can't exercise some commmonsense judgment on this, I would be worried they would find some obscure loophole to not pay a more serious medical claim . I won't insure with them again.

Have used Tick insurance twice now. Checked policy and price against many others and Tick are cheaper and offer more.
Haven't had to claim but if the process of purchase is anything to go by I don't think I would have a problem should I need to make a claim.

We've utilised their insurance policies for three trips now. We've been pleased with the quoted rates and our claims experience on the one occasion that we had cause to make a claim.
The entire online process is smooth and easy to navigate your wat through.

We looked at plenty of quotes and value for money did it for us although a $101 for a kidney stone is a bit steep!!!

Having used TID's affordable insurance numerous times I was under the false impression that all would be well when I needed to claim.

I had 2 claims, 2 different policies and 2 different trips.

Both were a nightmare.

The first claim was when i travelled overseas, my mother was very ill at the time and for anyone that has seen the demise of a cancer patient you know it's challenging to put your life on hold not knowing when someone will pass.

So I flew, once I landed in Cebu, Philipines I found out that it was unlikely mum would make it even a few days.

So I advised TID the lady said of course it would be covered, booked a new flight for my hubby and changed my flight and just made it to Manila before I found out she had passed away in Sydney.

After a long drawn out process where i not only had to provide a death certificate but also was requested to provide DR's reports etc I was denied.

I went to Lloyds and lodged a dispute. I was denied again as apparently she was considered to be part of the traveling party even though she wasn't traveling!

Finally after going to the ombudsman and lodging a claim did I see any action.

I was eventually, after a lot of heartache and tears and frustrations partially reimbursed.

A year later I flew to Canada, broke my wrist and experienced the joy of claiming again.

Again this one had to go to the ombudsman and finally I was reimbursed.

So if you've been denied keep pushing as long as you are in the right...it's not fair how they treat you.

I sent an email to make a claim on delayed baggage, got no response from any one within the claims department.

I am unable to give a revue on any claims made on this policy as we were fortunate enough to have a trouble free holiday .
I will be using Zoom again for my next trip though for sure.
