When purchasing online, check that your site promotes the following:

• Hacker safe:
  Checked daily? The latest technology encrypts information you enter, prevents other computers impersonating your computer and blocks third parties reading or changing your info as it travel through the internet.
  
  
• Personal information:
  Check that your personal information is used primarily for the creation and operation of your insurance policy and not divulged to third parties. If in doubt, check with the Privacy Act 1988.
  
  
• Call direct:
  If you are uncomfortable finalising your credit card details online, check whether you are able to contact the company direct.
