Userbility / Efficient use of time
- Ouch provide four policies
- these are segmented according to age and
location.
- Can be unforgiving if
you've made a mistake with your personal details
on the previous page. This often means you
have to go back a step and start again
- If you miss something
out, a box pops up. If the box says 'incomplete
specified items' - it doesn't tell you what
is missing and no text is highlighted for
you to go back to. You have to figure this
out for yourself
- Once a specific policy
has been selected, you then have to go in
separately to 'travel plans' and work out
which is the correct type of cover
- Excess wasn't shown on
'schedule of benefits' page - you have to
navigate the site to find this
- Product disclosure statements
and policy wording available
Flexibility
- Unable to repurchase ski travel insurance online if still on holiday and wish to extend
- 24 hour emergency helpline for those insured with Ouch
- Insurance must be booked and issued prior to travel
- Can increase rental car insurance excess at a range of additional costs
- A separate policy is to be used for travellers over the age of 70.
Value for money
- Does not include any pre existing medical conditions
- Reduction in unnecessary overheads normally associated with travel insurance
- A large reduction in unnecessary overheads normally associated with travel insurance commission (up to 50% reduction in costs)
Financial stability
- Underwritten by QBE Travel Assistance
Security of site
- Single socket layer encryption with a thawed digital certificate - this ensures the account details of your credit card are scrambled once your insurance has been purchased and that the site is extra secure
