Do your homework before you purchase
- Shop around and get a thorough understanding of the cover you wish to purchase. Check for exclusions, policy excess, flexibility and good old fashioned value for money so when the time comes to make a claim you feel comfortable knowing you've chosen the right policy
Declare pre-existing medical conditions
- When signing up for travel insurance, it is imperative that you declare pre-existing medical conditions.
You could be refused hospital treatment if these are not shown on your policy.
Keep all documentations and receipts
- Take a copy of your travel insurance with you and leave a copy at home. File away receipts and make an extra copy of these as back-up if you need to post a claim.
Take photographic evidence where possible and send your claim within the given time frame.
